A recap of Week 1 football action in the Hockomock League.

Aaron Mack had two rushing touchdowns, Frankie Morris had a rushing touchdown, and quarterback Dan Eckler had a touchdown pass to tight end Andrew Kelly.

Linebacker Adam Leonard made the defensive play of the game, intercepting a pass with five minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Holliston, trailing 20-13, was in Stoughton territory, looking for the game-tying score. Instead, Stoughton got the ball back and nine plays later (including penalties), a 21-yard touchdown run by Mack, followed by a two-point conversion run by Morris, put Stoughton up 28-13 with 1:22 left.

Oliver Ames, the defending Davenport Division champions, rode a hot start to a 14-6 win Saturday afternoon at home.

On just the second play from scrimmage, OA running back St. Claire Ryan ran 61 yards to the end zone to give the Tigers an early 6-0 advantage.

Later in the first, quarterback Nick Cidado lateraled to Reid Starr and Starr then hit a wide-open Greg Cummings for a 48-yard TD strike. A completion to tight end Sam Kelly for a two-point conversion gave the Tigers a 14-0 lead, and that was all the scoring the Tigers would need, holding Medfield without a score until the final minute of the fourth.

Cummings also came up with three interceptions (all in the first half) on defense.
