Gallery: Stoughton's U14 Boys' Soccer Team Goes Undefeated, Winning South Shore Soccer League Title

The Stoughton Youth Soccer League's U14 boys' team (11-0) beat Weymouth in the semifinals and Brockton in the championship to capture the South Shore Soccer League title.

It took overtime and penalty kicks, but the ended its regular season and South Shore Soccer League (SSSL) playoff run undefeated, beating Brockton Sunday afternoon at Braintree High  in the finals of the SSYL Playoffs.

Stoughton, now 11-0, will head to the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions (MTOC) in Lancaster next weekend for a state championship tournament.

Stoughton and Brockton were tied 1-1 after regulation. Trailing 1-0, Will Peoples scored the equalizer early in the second half.

After two scoreless 10-minute overtime sessions, the game was decided by penalty kicks.

Josh Mitchell, Peoples, Malyke Ross and Noah Schulze all made their penalty kicks, but Brockton answered each time.

Stoughton goalie Kyle Silverman then made the team's fifth penalty kick, putting Stoughton up by one. On the ensuing Brockton try, Silverman came up with the save, giving Stoughton the dramatic win, and clinching the championship.

Silverman was stellar in net, making a number of big plays, but none bigger than that final save. He was awarded the game ball for his efforts.

Stoughton earned a berth in Sunday's final with a 4-1 semifinal win over Weymouth on Saturday at Braintree High. Schulze scored twice and Peoples and Marco Antunes each chipped in with a goal.

Stoughton beat Easton in the SSSL quarterfinals on June 12.
