The Stoughton High boys' and girls' outdoor track teams were in action Tuesday against visiting Milford. The Stoughton boys' improved to 2-0 this season with a 102-34 win, while the Stoughton girls' fell to 0-2 losing 86-50.

The following is from Stoughton boys' coach Harvey Blonder:

In a dominating performance, the Stoughton boys won 13 of 16 events.

Top scorers were Malachi Baugh, Andrew Valle and Samir Sofi. Baugh and Sofi each won two events. Jason Marshall, Sofi, and Baugh qualified for the state meet.

Baugh won the 100-meter (11.0 seconds) and the 200-meter (23.2 seconds). Sofi won the long jump (20'10") and the high jump (5'8"). Valle won the javelin (129'5"), placed second in the hurdles and triple jump and was part of the winning 4 x 100-meter relay team (46.6 seconds).

Other winners included: Marshall (400-meter hurdles, 61.8 seconds); David Lockhart (mile, 4:43.9); Jack D'Addieco (400-meters - 54.2 seconds); Alec DeNapoli - (800-meters, 2:16); Shawn Connolly (shot put 41'10"); and Alex Green (discus, 117'3").

Wayne Barnaby (mile, 4:45.5); Smeet Patel (400-meters, 58.3 seconds); John Paul Noe (800-meters, 2:17.4); Alfred Parker (200-meters, 24.0 seconds), Joey Wilder (shot put, 40'9"); and Bobby Blindt (discus, 115'2") placed second in their events.

Third place finishes were John Eppenstein (400-meter hurdles - 66.8 seconds); Marcus Middleton (100-meters, 11.4 seconds); Evan Schulze (2-mile, 12:06 seconds); Kevin Lucas (shot put, 40'4"); Tim Porter (94'4", discus); Charles Williams (javelin, 108') and Matt Mack (38' 11.75", triple jump). 

GIRLS' RECAP

The following is from Stoughton girls' coach Robert Clarke: 

Highlights from the meet: Sarah Quattrucci came in second in the triple jump and second in the 400-meters and was Stoughton's leading scorer with 7 points.

Amy Kelly won the 400-meter hurdles and qualified for states with a time of 70.3 seconds; Katie Daly won the mile; Kerry O'Neil won the 2-mile; and Rachel Berkowsky won the 800-meter event.

Julia Bobeck finished second in the mile; Shelby Sprague came in second in the 110-meter hurdles; Rebekah Medina placed second in the 800-meters; Imani David finished second in the 200-meters; Susanna Noe finished second in the 2 mile; and Ariene Ohimor finished second in the shot put.
