On Father’s Day 2012, Jay’s first Father’s Day as a new dad, he spent his weekend in emergency rooms rather than enjoying it with his wife Kelly and daughter Zoe. Jay was struck with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS); a paralyzing condition where the body’s own immune system attacks the nervous system. It affects about 1 in 100,000 of us and can strike at anytime, without warning. Jay spent a month in a Boston ICU, unable to speak, breathe, or hold his little girl. Today, he is talking and breathing on his own again, but a full recovery could take weeks, months, or even years. Jay and his family are forever grateful to the people they know, and to the many they’ve never met, who are opening their hearts and helping them when they need us most. Thank you for giving anything you can to this inspiring family.

We’re also welcoming donations of food and raffle items. Please let me know if you or someone you know may be able to help us in this way.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
