“I can’t say enough about Mike Dixon,” Stoughton coach Mike Armour said. “He’s been great for us all year…The bats haven’t exactly been blazing all year but to have them go quiet when he pitches—it seems to be that sort of thing. He’s going to get his. He’s pitching great for us.”

KP pitcher Eric Cote also pitched well, allowing no runs and just four hits over six innings of work.

“Eric pitched a great game for us,” KP coach Ed Moran said. “[He wasn’t] overpowering. He was going in and out with the fastball; curveball wasn’t his greatest today but the changeup kept Stoughton off balance a little bit.”

KP went up 1-0 in the top of the third. Gavin Adams led off the inning with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Charlie Harrington.

The Warriors added a second run in the top of the fifth, with Adams bringing home Mike Murray on a sacrifice fly.

KP added four runs in the top of the seventh to put the game away.

Mike Gallagher, Pat Jackman, Dixon and Matt MacDonald had the hits for Stoughton.

KP is back in action Wednesday, hosting Oliver Ames. Stoughton travels to Attleboro on the same day.
