Sharon took the 3-1 lead on Friedman's homer. Caleb Engelbourg led off the inning with a walk. One out later, Friedman drove him home.

Gallagher allowed five runs on nine hits over five innings. He struck out five.

"I was proud," Armour said. "That was our freshman that started today. I thought he threw the ball pretty well. He's going to be a good player for us."
