Unloaded Plastic Gun Found in Backpack at O'Donnell Middle School

The O'Donnell Middle School sent out notification to parents Wednesday afternoon that a student came to school with an unloaded plastic gun in a backpack.

"This item was confiscated by school administration. There were no BB's with this student, and no students or staff were ever in any danger. The OMS administration worked cooperatively with the Stoughton Police Department to ensure that all proper safety protocols were followed in response to this incident. Student safety is our top priority. In an effort to keep our families informed, we are sending out this information. Thank you," read the notification."

Dr. Marguerite Rizzi, the Stoughton Superintendent of Schools said,
"The matter was handled very appropriately by the administration in my view."
