Toddlers Enjoy Experience at Stoughton Public Library

A group of two-year-olds from the Stoughton Extended Day preschool program went on a walking field trip with their class to the Stoughton Public Library.

The had some rather young patrons visit on Oct. 12 when a group of toddlers showed up to take in what the library has to offer.

The Stoughton Extended Day Preschool Program walked the students from their toddler preschool program (for ages 15 months to 2.9 years) the short distance from the , where the program is housed, to the library.

Teachers Erin Woods and Lynsey Scully accompanied the students.

The students were all “firmly holding onto a tether as one teacher was in the front and one in the back,” library secretary Sue Hargreaves wrote in an email.

“The kids were fascinated with the library and all knew they had to be very quiet! The youngest was 15 months,” Hargreaves wrote.

Woods said while at the library the teachers read a couple of stories to the students.

“They enjoyed it; they love books,” Woods said. “It brings the classroom [experience] right to the library.”
