Stoughton School Committee Encourages Residents To Write Reps.

The Stoughton School Committee has been collecting postcards to ask state representatives for their support in getting a new high school building.

Now they are asking people to send personal letters to State Sen. Brian A. Joyce, and to State Reps. Lou Kafka and Bill Galvin telling them why the new school should be on the Massachusetts School Building Association's list.

School committee chairman Joyce A. Husseini has been collecting the postcards and delivering them to the State House. She said the representatives appreciate receiving cards and are reading them, but they would also like to hear from residents personally.

The board is encouraging parents to write letters to the representatives.

"We want to get the elementary schools involved," Husseini said.

The chairman read a letter that Molly Turner, a seventh-grade student at the O'Donnell Middle School, sent to the representatives.
