Stoughton's Mackenzie Hudson Honored at Annual Honey Dew Donuts Scholarship Breakfast

The Stoughton High senior was awarded a 2012 Honey Dew Donuts Scholarship.

The following is adapted from a press release: 

, a graduating senior from , was awarded a $250 college scholarship by  Stoughton Franchisee Gary Lewis and Honey Dew Donuts Founder Richard Bowen at the 10th Annual Honey Dew Donuts Scholarship Breakfast and Awards Ceremony held at the Sheraton in Needham the morning of June 2.  

Hudson will be attending St. Michael’s College in Vermont in the fall.

Each year Honey Dew Donuts awards more than $25,000 in scholarship money to graduating high school seniors from Honey Dew Donuts franchise communities throughout New England.

To be eligible, students had to demonstrate academic excellence by maintaining a grade point average of B- or better, be accepted into a four-year accredited college or university, and participate in community service activities.

“With shops throughout New England, our Scholarship Program has a wide reach within Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire,” Bowen said. “We’re happy to be able to help so many deserving students in our local communities offset the cost of books and other expenses as they begin their college careers.” 

Honey Dew Donuts has awarded more than $225,000 to over 800 graduating high school seniors in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island since the inception of the company’s scholarship program in 1999. 

Hudson is one about 100 area students to have received a Honey Dew Donuts Scholarship this year.
