Stoughton Public Schools Will be OPEN Tuesday, February 12

Schools will reopen Tuesday in Stoughton. Snow emergency bus stops will be used.

After closing Friday and Monday for the arrival, and then cleanup of a weekend blizzard which dumped more than 30 inches of snow on Stoughton, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi informed Stoughton Patch that the Stoughton Public Schools will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

The schools will operate with a regular schedule.*

Snow emergency bus stops will be used to provide students, who would normally walk to school, transportation, according to the Stoughton Public Schools website.

These stops are in addition to the regular stops. The responsibility for getting the students to these stops will remain with the parents and guardians, the Stoughton Public Schools website states.

Dr. Rizzi said there aren't as many parking spaces as usual available and there are large piles of snow, but the school district wanted to save its two remaining snow days in case there is another weather-related event.

So far there have been three weather-related closings in Stoughton during the 2012-2013 school year. There are five snow days built into the school calendar each year.

*It will be C Day at Stoughton High School on Tuesday. Students should report to home base for course selection sheets, Principal Julie Miller said.
