Stoughton High Students Attend Anti-Tobacco Conference

The Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) group at Stoughton High recently took part in a statewide kickoff event to fight Big Tobacco.

The following is a press release submitted to Stoughton Patch:

The Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) group at Stoughton High School recently joined nearly 120 youth from around the Commonwealth at The 84 Movement’s Kickoff event in Worcester.

The Movement helps mobilize youth throughout the Commonwealth to take action to protect their communities and peers from the influence of the tobacco industry. The youth from SADD came ready to show Big Tobacco that they are not fooled and won't be duped into a life of tobacco use.

The youth learned new ways to promote The 84, work toward change in their communities, and recruit other youth to join the Movement. Youth also participated in energizing workshops, learned new skills to promote tobacco prevention, and networked with youth from across the state.

Transportation to the event was made possible by the Stoughton Council on Aging, Stoughton Youth Commission, and Organizing Against Substances in Stoughton (OASIS).
