Six Stoughton Students Honored at Southeastern Awards Night

The following is adapted from a press release from Southeastern Regional:

It was a night of generous giving, remembrance and celebration as 78 seniors at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School received 109 scholarships and awards at the Class of 2012 Senior Awards Ceremony on May 22, 2012.

Scholarships will be used to help students defray the cost of attending a post-secondary institution for continued education, while students entering the workplace after graduation will utilize their “toolship” awards to assist them with purchasing tools necessary to perform work in their specific vocational field.

Six graduating students from Stoughton - Nolan Blanchard, Jamar Joseph, Amanda Lally, Alexander MacDougall, Michael Stanley and Kayla Vazquez - were among those honored.

Blanchard was a recipient of the Teachers’ Federation Memorial Scholarship In Memory Of Mark Apostle; the Mark Apostle Memorial Scholarship; and the Walter Lewis Brown Memorial Scholarship.

Vazquez received the Good Citizenship Award and the Easton Pop Warner Scholarship.

Joseph and MacDougall both received the Raymond E. & Arlene B. Tropea Scholarship.

Lally received the Stoughton Media Access Scholarship and Stanley received the Jason Farwell Memorial Scholarship.

Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School is a public 9-12 vocational high school located in Easton, Massachusetts, serving approximately 1,250 students from the city of Brockton and the towns of East Bridgewater, Easton, Foxborough, Mansfield, Norton, Sharon, Stoughton, and West Bridgewater.
