School Improvement Plan: South Elementary School

Each elementary school, the middle school and the high school presented a “School Improvement Plan” to the Stoughton School Committee over the past three school committee meetings.

The improvement plans offered an assessment of the current programs and student achievement at the school, as well as plans for further growth, development, and in some cases, improvement.

Over the next two weeks, Stoughton Patch will be posting each school’s improvement plan as a PDF document, located in the media gallery. The plans are courtesy of the .

Each school had their own School Council members, which featured administrators, teachers, parents, community members, and in some cases, students, contribute to these improvement plans.

The is the third school in the district to be featured.  The and were featured earlier in the week.

Principal Maureen Mulvey presented the South School plan, with some help from students , who will be fifth graders at the school in September.

The plan focused on the following areas:

• MCAS performance
• Class Size/Student-to-teacher ratio
• Professional Development
• Parental Involvement
• Safety and Discipline
• Extra-Curricular Activities
• Diverse Learning Needs
