Pre-Prom Event on February 17th at SHS

An invite to a pre-prom info/entertainment session for parents and students at Stoughton High. The event will include a fashion show and a panel discussion focused on making good decisions on prom night.

My Dearest Seniors,

I am pleased to announce that Stoughton High School has partnered with O.A.S.I.S. this year to bring you an exciting Pre-Prom Event.

O.A.S.I.S. is a community organization run by the Stoughton Youth Commission with police, social services, business, school, and community representatives among their many members. The goal of this organization is to keep the children of Stoughton substance free.

The Pre-Prom Event will include a professional fashion show with Stoughton High School students modeling the latest prom attire for this season. There will be several vendors at the event, and they will be offering BIG discounts on all of the things our students might be purchasing for the prom (limos, dresses, tuxes, hair and make-up). These vendors will also be raffling off all sorts of prizes.

The evening will also include a panel discussion for parents, guardians, and students focused on making good decisions on prom night. Yes, the panel discussion will be informative and educational, but the music, fashion, prizes, and discounts will also be lots of fun for all of you.

The Pre-Prom Event will be held in the on Thursday, February 17th from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

There is also a Prom Contract that Stoughton High seniors must have their parents/guardians read and sign in order to attend the prom this year. The best way to get this contract signed will be right there at the Pre-Prom Event; part of the panel discussion will be an explanation of the contract and an opportunity to sign right then and there.

Seniors who do not attend the Pre-Prom Event with a parent/guardian will still need to get the contract signed to attend the prom. SENIORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE THE CONTRACT HOME AND BRING IT BACK SIGNED. If you miss the Pre-Prom Event, there will be a handful of designated signing mornings and afternoons set up at the high school.

Parents/guardians must come to the school to sign the contract in the presence of our O.A.S.I.S. and parent volunteers. We will have a record of all students who have fulfilled their contract obligations, and only these students will be allowed to purchase tickets for the prom.

Our goal is to make a unified statement to stay substance free for the prom. We will all work together so that all who wish to attend the prom may do so.

Your Principal,

Mr. Matthew Colantonio
