OMS and Stoughton High to Hold Open Houses for New Students

Incoming sixth graders and incoming high school freshmen will be able to tour either the middle school or high school before the first day of school.

With the first day of school just two weeks away (), incoming sixth graders and incoming high school freshmen will get the chance to tour their new schools later this week.

On Thursday, August 25, from 9 a.m. until noon, incoming sixth graders are welcome to stop by and take a tour of the and see their first period classroom. Seventh and eighth grade student volunteers will be leading these tours.

Also on Thursday, parents will be able to have coffee with OMS Principal Wayne Hester from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Parents will be able to join the school’s PTSO at that time.

As for soon-to-be high school freshmen, this Thursday and Friday, August 25 and 26, Stoughton High Peer Leaders will be giving tours of for all new students. These tours will take place between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on both days.

Upperclassmen will have the chance to apply for a parking application on Thursday and Friday during 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. as well.

The cost of parking is $60. Students do not have to pay the fee when they apply.

According to message from SHS Principal Matt Colantonio, seniors get the permits first, and then SHS distributes permits to juniors on a first-come, first-served basis. SHS does not provide permits to sophomores.
