Officials Seek Residents to be Part of School Building Committee

Those interested will need to send a letter and resume to town officials this week.

The Stoughton School Committee is currently looking for residents with architecture, engineering or construction experience to join as members of the School Building Committee for the proposed rebuilding or construction of a new Stoughton High School, according to school officials.

The Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) earlier this year invited the Stoughton school district into an eligibility period for the project, which is the first step in receiving state money to help pay for school-related projects, officials said.

Officials now must form a building committee, with the Stoughton Board of Selectmen voting this month to give Town Manager Michael Hartman the power to make appointments to the committee. Members' names will be submitted to the MSBA by April 3.
