We all know that can be an exciting and wonderful part of the high school experience, however, sometimes these same happy times can have devastating outcomes due to poor choices related to underage drinking.

It is for this reason that Stoughton High had decided last year to implement a Mandatory Prom Policy Program, where every student who is interested in attending prom, and their guardians, must get educated first about choices and must sign the Prom Policy Contract before they can purchase prom tickets.

The purpose of this contract is to ensure that parents understand the choices their children will be making and commit to a drug and alcohol free Prom night.

With the school’s support of this program, this will be the first opportunity for students to purchase their 2012 prom tickets, and a special discount will provided for attendees of this night only.

As a result, participation from many members of the Stoughton High School senior class and their parents is expected.

To help attract students (and their parents/guardians) to this fun event, there will be a student fashion show and a Vendors’ Showcase where the students will have a chance to shop for prom-related products and services and register for raffle prizes (items to be supplied by the vendors).

So this is where Stoughton businesses come into the picture.  If your business provides prom-related products or services and if you would be interested in participating in this very worthwhile event then OASIS will provide you a table at no charge!

All they ask for is that you provide an item that can be raffled off to the students (a minimum of $50.00 value—if you cannot take a table but would still like to provide a raffle item then that would be fine as well).

Last year was the first year for this event and it was very successful. There is limited availability due to space constraints. Please join OASIS and the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce in this opportunity to show that, "Adults in Stoughton care about their Youth."

For more information or to reserve a table, please contact Terry Schneider, at 781-888-1400 or main@stoughtonma.com by this Friday, January 13, 2012.
