Meet the Stoughton High Class of 2012's Top 10 Graduates

Kevin Roopcharan, Edward Ruddy, Muhammad Mir, Loreen Louiny, Heather Baeta, Dahlia Kushinsky, Kayla Floro, Kerlyne Jean-Baptiste, Nobrina Seng and Mackenzie Hudson make up the top 10 graduates (based on grade point average) in the SHS Class of 2012.

"I see these people more than [I see] my family," Kerlyne Jean-Baptiste joked on Tuesday morning following a rehearsal. The soon-to-be graduate was referring to her fellow top-ten graduates in this year's Stoughton High senior class.

The group has gotten to know each other well after traveling in the same circle of honors and Advanced Placement classes while at .

After four years of demanding coursework and a plethora of extra curricular activities, Kevin Roopcharan is the Stoughton High Class of 2012's valedictorian, the top-ranked student in the graduating class. Edward Ruddy, the salutatorian, is ranked second.

Rounding out the top ten (in order of class rank, based on grade point average): Muhammad Mir, Loreen Louiny, Heather Baeta, Dahlia Kushinsky, Kayla Floro, the aforementioned Jean-Baptiste, Nobrina Seng and Mackenzie Hudson.

The difference in grade point average (GPA) between number one and number 10 in this class is just 0.1451 points - a razor thin margin.

All members of the National Honor Society, the group participates in a wide-range of extra curriculars - playing on a number of different SHS sports teams, DECA, band, Junior States of America, student council, Kids Voting, and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), just to name a few.

They'll be continuing their education at some of the best schools in the area, planning to study a wide range of topics from engineering to finance to political science to medicine to physical therapy to communications (see a full list of each of their plans below).

Their advice to underclassmen?

"High School is what you make of it," Jean-Baptiste said.

"Don't stress out," Baeta added.

"Don't wait until the last minute," Seng said.

The group is among the from Stoughton High on June 7, 2012.

"It went by so fast," Hudson said of her high school experience.

"It still hasn't sunk in," Ruddy said of graduating.

"Cherish the moment," he advised.
