Hockomock League to Expand

Taunton and Milford to join the Hockomock League in 2012-2013.

Taunton High School and Milford High School are expected to join the Hockomock League at the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year, pending approval from the schools' current leagues, the Sun Chronicle reported Saturday.

The addition of the two schools make 12 schools in the league, which is split into two six-school divisions. Milford will likely join the small-school Davenport Division and Taunton will join the large-school Kelly-Rex division. Milford is currently a member of the Midland Wachusett League and Taunton is a member of the Old Colony League.

This year, the Hockomock league added Attleboro and split the league into two divisions. Stoughton is a member of the Davenport Division along with Oliver Ames, Sharon, Foxborough and Canton. The Kelly-Rex Division is currently composed of King Philip, Attleboro, North Attleboro, Franklin and Mansfield.
