Gallery: 2012 Mr. SHS Competition

Stoughton High Senior Matthew Moore was named the 2012 winner of the Mr. SHS competition, a male pageant and fundraiser for the senior class. Take a look at photos and videos from the evening in the media gallery.

After a highly entertaining dance rendition of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” routine, senior Matthew Moore was named the 2012 winner of the annual Mr. SHS competition.

The male pageant and fundraiser for the senior class was held last Wednesday night, April 11 at the Stoughton High School auditorium.

Moore, who was also crowned back in the fall, earned top honors, becoming the seventh student to earn the title of “Mr. SHS,” since the first competition back in 2006.

Kevin Richard and Thomas Berntsen came in second and third, respectively.

All eight contestants—Moore, Richard, Berntsen, Joey Ialuna, Luke Asack, Derek Scarlett, Denzel Scarlett, and Donald Saladin—are members of the SHS senior class.

The competition included causal wear, talent show, formal wear and question and answer segments. The contestants modeled tuxedos provided by Richard Lewis Formal Wear in Canton.

As usual, the talent portion of the show was the highlight of the night, with the contestants doing everything from singing, to playing musical instruments, to dancing, to juggling.

The eight seniors were judged in each category by a panel of five judges (Stoughton High staff Deb Conti, Ed Hoyle, Maureen Dunderdale, Roseanne Rossi and Stoughton Patch’s Jeffrey Pickette).

Escorts included SHS students: Mollie Masone, Jess Freitas; Malykah Lopes, Marisa Harris, Heather Baeta, Jessira Correira, Talesha Joseph and Brittany Mahan.

Students Cassie Luce and Michael Silveira served as the quick-witted hosts.

Senior Class Advisor Nicole Cardoso and the senior class officers organized the show.
