Home of the Week: Anyone Want to Buy a School House?

Do you want to own a school? For $549,000, you can purchase 882 Park St., a three bed, 4.1 bath home, according to zillow.com.

When it was built in 1925, the Tolman School was constructed to replace the old Tolman School, which was burned down on Nov. 27, 1924, according to Images of America Stoughton by David Allan Lambert. The cost of building the new school was $16,400 in 1925. After it was stopped being used as a school in 1970, Southeastern Regional trained nurses there until it was turned into a private home.

It has maintained its unique architecture and was updated in 2002 with all new systems, including septic. There is a huge modern kitchen, a gas fireplace and hardwood floors on the main level. There are two entrance on the lower level, allowing an in-home business or a possible in-law apartment.

There will be an open house Sunday, Oct. 13, 1-3 p.m.

The listing was provided by Patricia Stanton, homes of Distinction Realty at 781-632-6253, ext. 8728230.
