Potholes – the scourge of the sedan, traitor among tires, foe of the frappuccino – multiple in the winter after bouts of snow and cold weather.

The Stoughton Department of Public Works is fighting the yearly battle against those car rattling potholes.

"We have been pothole patching on the days we have no snow or rain," said DPW superintendent John Batchelder. "I think we have a few more this year than usual. We are fortunate that we are still able to get hot asphalt for the most part and have used very little cold patch."

If you are seeing a proliferation of potholes, give the town a call, but then also share your info with us in the comments below.

Pearl St (across from the high school) and Central St (from the courthouse to Walgreens) are so bad, it will knock your teeth loose! DPW had done some kind of project there recently, but it doesn't seem like they ever completed the final layer, and it is just AWFUL to drive on. Any expectation that those roads will be repaired/completed soon?

Don't fix the holes at all. It makes people drive slower.

Pearl and Central streets are the worse. As the commenter above stated, work was done there, but never finished. Both streets need to be paved. (And children walk to school on these roads. They could easily trip or fall.)
