Stoughton's Interim Town Manager Receives Contract Extension

The Stoughton Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to extend the contract of Interim Town Manager Joseph D. Feaster, Jr. as the search process for a permanent Town Manager continues.

As the search for a permanent Town Manager continues, the Stoughton Board of Selectmen voted 5-0 on July 10 to extend the contract of Interim Town Manager Joseph D. Feaster, Jr.

Feaster became Interim Town Manager on April 1 of this year, and his contract was set to expire on July 31, 2012. This contract extension is through November 30, 2012, unless a permanent Town Manager has been hired before that.

The extension has the same terms as the , except that Feaster will now be allowed up to seven days of vacation time, Board of Selectmen Chair John Stagnone said. Feaster had no allotted vacation time in his first contract. His salary remains a prorated $140,000.

The town is paying $18,750 to Municipal Resources, Inc. (MRI), a firm which will assist the Town Manager Search Committee in the process of hiring a permanent town manager.

He succeeded , who had served for two years as Stoughton’s Town Manager, before  in January 2012. Crimmins’ last day in office was March 31.
