Curbside Trash Collection Cancelled for Monday in Stoughton

Trash collection will resume Tuesday after Memorial Day.

There will be no curbside trash collection on Monday, May 26 in Stoughton as the town observes Memorial Day, Stoughton officials announced. 

Trash collection for Memorial Day will be scheduled for Tuesday, May 27 in addition to the regular Tuesday trash collection. All trash and recyclables must be on the curbside by 7 a.m. 

Stoughton residents are asked to separate recyclables into the following categories:

  • Comingled containers: glass, plastic, aluminum cans and aluminum foil.
  • Curbside newsprint: newspapers, cardboard boxes, brown paper bags, magazines, phone books and inserts.

Tubeless television sets and computer monitors are able to be collected curbside but older TVs and computer monitors containing tubes are not able to be collected curbside. Such items must be brought to the Stoughton Transfer Station, which is open every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Large household appliances, including metal items, must be called into the Department of Public Works for pickup by appointment.
