AG Martha Coakley to Run For Governor

The Associated Press is reporting Attorney General Martha Coakley will be throwing her hat into the ring in the race for governor of Massachusetts. Coakley is expected to make a formal announcement Monday morning.

According to the Boston Herald, Coakley made the announcement in a video release on her website at 6 a.m Monday morning,, followed by a public appearance in Medford at 7:45 a.m. The Herald also says Coakley is expected to make several other campaign stops on Monday and more than a dozen more across the state over the next few days.

Coakley is in her second term as the state’s attorney general. Prior to that she served eight years as the Middlesex County district attorney.
