Three Sent to Hospital Following Two Car Crash in Stoughton

Two cars collided at the intersection of Canton Street and School Street in Stoughton Thursday morning, sending three to the hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries, Lt. Buddy O'Neil of the Stoughton Fire Department said.

The crash occurred at 6:56 a.m. One car was traveling on Canton Street towards the downtown and was taking a left onto School Street, while the other was on Canton Street heading away from the downtown, according to O'Neil.

There were two occupants in each vehicle.

A male driver and female passenger from one car were both transported via ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. The female driver from the other car was also transported via ambulance to Good Samaritan, O'Neil said. The other occupant in this vehicle did not need to be transported.

Ambulances from Canton and Sharon assisted with transporting the patients, O'Neil said.

The Stoughton Fire Department ambulance was tied up on another call at the time of this crash.

At 6:13 a.m., O'Neil said the SFD responded to a pregnant woman having contractions on Route 24 North and transported her to Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston.

Despite having contractions, the woman did not deliver the baby en route to the hospital, O'Neil said.
