Stoughton Police Say New Smart911 Program Already Making an Impact

Not long after implementing a Smart911 program for residents, Stoughton Police say the new online service has already started working and the department has handled several 911 calls from residents who have built profiles on the platform.

The service is free and allows residents to create a "safety profile" for their homes, on which they can include any information they may want 911 dispatchers and first-responders to have in the event of an emergency. If a resident needs to dial 911, their safety profile would immediately display on the dispatcher's screen, saving what could be critical seconds in an emergency situation.
