Stoughton Police Make Drug Bust on Lincoln St.

A Taunton woman and Stoughton man were arrested after authorities executed a search warrant at a Lincoln Street residence in Stoughton on Thursday.

The Stoughton man was charged with possession of cocaine and oxycodone.

The woman had outstanding warrants for assault and battery.

At about 4:30 p.m. Stoughton Police Detectives, assisted by MetroLEC, served a search warrant at 100 Lincoln St., according to SPD Deputy Chief Robert Devine.

Joshua Ortiz, 21, listed at the Lincoln Street address where police served the warrant, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a Class B drug and possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug.

Tatiana Mercado, 29, of Johnson Street in Taunton had two outstanding warrants for assault and battery, and was also arrested.

"We thank the MetroLEC SWAT team for helping us execute the warrant without any mishaps or injuries to officers or civilians," Devine said.

Devine also wanted to "commend our detectives for their hard work in putting together solid cases that pass muster when requests are made for these warrants."

"We will continue to chase leads and bring to justice those that will sell drugs in our streets, Devine said.
