Stoughton Police Log Sept. 20: South African Scam Uncovered

Friday, Sept. 20:
8:02 a.m. Stop & Shop, Washington Street, party reported cell phone taken.
8:33 a.m. Bay Road, ambulance call, fire department notified.
9:37 a.m. Memorial Road, burglary, home broken into.
9:47 a.m. Southworth Court, warrant served, Shane Gregoire, 41, Southworth Court., warrant apprehension. Party taken into custody and transported to court.
11:01 a.m. Wyman Street, party reported pocketbook left on top of vehicle at MBTA station parking lot.
11:49 a.m. West Street, animal control, dog complaint, party advised.
11:58 a.m. Stoughton Center, motor vehicle accident, information exchanged.
12:43 p.m. Pleasant Street, party fell off bicycle, transferred to fire department.
5:17 p.m. CVS, Central Street, customer filled a fake prescription. Arrested Renee Allen, 43, of Boston, drug obtained by fraud.
5:27 p.m. Miranda Bread, Washington Street, motor vehicle accident, parties swapped papers.
5:43 p.m. Halloran Park, Pierce Street, report of a small white dog with collar, no tags. Dog taken into custody and transferred to pound.
5:47 p.m. Stoughton High School, electronic device stolen at school.
8:25 p.m. Page Street, possible scam, complainant placed for ad for roommate, ad answered by party in South Africa. Moneygram sent from Colorado. Party in SouthAfrica requested leftover money from Moneygram sent to address in South Africa. It was confirmed that this incident was a scam. Complainant hadn't completed transaction.
9:02 p.m. MBTA station, Wyman Street, party reports bicycle stolen.
10:22 p.m. Bay Road, Gilbert Drive, road hazard, chair in the road, Sharon Police Department notified.
10:24 p.m. Park Street, disturbance, altercation with tenant and former tenant. Arrested for assault and battery, Marcello Albuquerque, 34, Bennett Drive, Stoughton.
10:56 p.m. Alex's of Stoughton, Washington Street, received notice of order to repossess car from American Recovery Service.
