Stoughton Police Log: Phone Scam Reported

The following information is from the Stoughton Police logs. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are incidents from the Stoughton Police Log for Oct. 12-13.
Saturday, Oct. 12:
6:02 a.m. Past burglary, Blinds to Go, Dykeman Way, investigated.
9:38 a.m. 911 ambulance, Bay Road, transferred to fire department.
10:25 a.m. Motor vehicle accident, Washington Street, investigated, report filed.
11:01 a.m. 911 ambulance, Blue Hills Alzheimer Care Center, Park Street. Party fell and injured head. Call transferred to fire department.1
2:14 p.m. 911 disturbance, Mobil Oil Corp., Washington Street, peace restored.
12:41 p.m. 911 ambulance, Greenbrook Drive, transferred to fire department
1:37 p.m. Shoplifting, Target, Hawes Way. Target said needed help identifying a shoplifter, but did not want to pursue criminal charges against party.
2 p.m. Motor vehicle stop, Pearl Street and Central Street, arrested Jorge Souza Viera, 45, Albion Street, Fall River, unlicensed operation of motor vehicle, failure to stop and yield.
2:25 p.m. Disturbance, Sons of Italy, Washington Street, male and female arguing, verbal argument only. Male party left area.
3:01 p.m. Shoplifting, Kohl's, Technology Drive, female juvenile arrested.
4:03 p.m. PWD notification, Corbett Road, caller said there is a water leak at their house and indoor shutoff is broken. Water department to assist.
7:44 p.m. M&G Pizza, Washington Street. Party said they received a call from a number claiming to be National Grid asking them for $700 or the power would be shut off. They also asked party to get a Green Pak Card from Rite Aid and give them the numbers off the back of the card. Party located the numbers, 866-342-5288, on the Boston Police website as a scram to extort money for business owners by the threat of shutting off their power. Services rendered.
9:08 p.m. Hit and run accident, BJ's Wholesale Club, Technology Drive, investigated.
9:26 p.m. Hit and run accident, Courtyard by Marriott, Technology Center, called fire department by phone as it was unable to be transferred.
10:10 p.m. Disabled motor vehicle in intersection at Central Street and Washington Street. Vehicle pushed into Mobil station.

Sunday, Oct. 13:
12:05 a.m. Disturbance, Lucas Drive, investigated.
2:09 a.m. 911 Ambulance, New England Sinai Hospital, call transferred to fire department.
2:43 a.m. Suspicious motor vehicle, Alex's of Stoughton, party driving in and out of lot, harassing the employees. Officers located vehicle at Mobil. Car towed by Sherm's.
2:46 a.m. Caller says there is a female screaming outside on Island Street. Party transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.
6:55 a.m. 911 ambulance, Birch Avenue, caller stated they were having a heart attack. Call transferred to fire department.
6:56 a.m. Serve warrant, Canton Street, arrested Timothy G. McLaughlin, 32, Canton Street. Officer served probation warrant.
10:18 a.m. Vandalism/malicious damage to mailbox on Gay Street. Report filed.
11:47 a.m. 911 fire, West Street. Fire department notified.
12:07 p.m. 911 ambulance, caller transferred to fire department.
1:10 p.m. Public service, School Street. Officer assisted with neighboring fence issued. Problem resolved.
1:16 p.m. Officer found needle on the ground in front of Rockland Trust.
1:26 p.m. Motor vehicle accident, Central Street and Charles Circle, caller said brakes went out and they went off the road into bushes. Caller said they didn't need medical attention. Car was towed.
1:45 p.m. Stoughton Motel, Washington Street, possible drunk party. David Scott Quellette, Washington Street, Stoughton, 52, placed into protective custody.
2:56 p.m. Found/lost property, Kristen Drive, party reported a lost wallet. Report taken.
7:11 p.m. Disturbance, Alex's of Stoughton. Customer reported to be causing a disturbance. Segundo Caguana, 23, Pleasant Street, Brockton, Charged with alcohol in motor vehicle, possession of open container of alcohol, no inspection or sticker.
7:12 p.m. Road hazard, Ash Street, deer struck by vehicle, animal put down because of injures.
7:25 p.m. Motor vehicle stop, arrest made, Park Avenue, Magno Balbino, 25, Dean Street, Norwood, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, warrant service.
8:37 a.m. Animal control, Turnpike Street, coyote struck by vehicle, message left for animal control to pick up.
10:52 p.m. 911 ambulance, Wheeler Circle, call transferred to fire department.
11:38 p.m. 911 ambulance, Erin Road, call transferred to fire department.
11:53 p.m. Unwanted party, Alex's of Stoughton, caller reported unwanted party in parking lot. Party advised and left the area.
11:58 p.m. Disabled motor vehicle, Central Street and Canton Street, fire department, caller reported disabled motor vehicle.
