Stoughton Police Investigating Friday Assault, Robbery at Gunpoint

Police in Stoughton are investigating a reported assault that occurred on Bennet Drive late Friday night, and are looking for help from anyone who might have information regarding the incident. 

The assault reportedly occurred around 11:12 p.m. on Friday, June 13, when a victim was allegedly approached by two white males and a black male and reportedly robbed at gunpoint and beaten. The suspects then allegedly forced the victim's brother into his apartment and ransacked it, Stoughton Police said.

"Stoughton officers arrived and pursued a fleeing suspect with several K9s and the assistance of the Randolph and Massachusetts State Police," Stoughton officers said in a statement Saturday. "The fleeing suspect escaped capture. The alleged victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries."

Police described one of the suspects as being a short heavyset while male with a bald or shaved head in his 30s and speaking broken Spanish. A second suspect was described as being a 6-foot white male with brown hair and a mustache, and the third was described as being a black male with a height of about 5-feet, 8-inches and having a stocky build. All three were wearing dark clothing, police said. 

Police said the matter is not believed to be a random act of violence, and that they are confident that there is not any cause for further alarm. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Stoughton Police Department at 781-344-2424.
