Stoughton Police Chief' Roasted for "Cops for Kids with Cancer'

Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany was roasted and toasted Friday, Nov. 8, at the Portuguese Nation Club.
Shastany was a good sport throughout the evening as a lineup of roasters took shots at Stoughton's top cop, telling stories, making jokes before honoring him as they finished.
Proceeds of the evening went to the chief's selected charity, "Cops for Kids with Cancer."
The event was put on by the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce.
The  lineup was scheduled to include attorney Fran Crimmins, the former town manager, Bob Devine, the Deputy Police Chief, John Batchelder, the Stoughton DPW Superintendent, selectman Steve Anastos, former selectman John Anderson and Ken Shastany, the chief's brother. Mark Snyder served as the master of ceremonies.
Ken Shastany put together a funny slide show tribute to his brother, showing the chief in his youth, and talked about what great family man his brother is.
The chief also spoke about his two lives, as Stoughton police chief, and as a family man.
"My family is my anchor," he said.
Shastany also talked about how he was considering the police chief positions in Duxbury and Sandwich in addition to Stoughton.
In the end, he said Stoughton was the best place for him to be.
"I'm so happy to be here," said Shastany. "This is the best town in Massachusetts. I love this town."
