Stoughton Police Arrest Driver for Fourth Drunk Driving Offense

An Avon Man was arrested in Stoughton on September 11 for operating under the influence of liquor (fourth offense).

A 54-year-old Avon man was arrested in Stoughton on Tuesday for operating under the influence of liquor. It was his fourth drunk driving offense, according to the Stoughton Police log.

Canton police called at 11:18 p.m. on September 11 stating that a car was "traveling into Stoughton at a high rate of speed on three tires," according to the log.

Just a few minutes later, pulled the car over at the intersection of Washington and Central Streets in Stoughton.

Thomas Dwyer, 54, of Avon, was arrested and charged with OUI liquor (fourth offense); failure to stop for a police officer while operating a motor vehicle; and operating a motor vehicle negligently to endanger.

Sherm's Auto Body towed the vehicle, according to the log.
