The Stoughton Fire Department extinguished a brush fire at the Glen Echo property in Stoughton early Monday afternoon.

SFD Captain Doug Campbell said the fire was about an acre in size and located at the end of Glen Echo Blvd. in Stoughton, in the area in front of the pond.

The SFD received a call from a woman on the Canton side of the pond, who reported seeing smoke on the Stoughton side of the pond, Campbell said.

A brush truck from Stoughton and a brush truck from Avon, along with a Stoughton engine responded to the scene. Campbell said it was not a significant fire. Crews were on scene for about an hour and 15 minutes.
