Norfolk County DA Rules Stoughton Teen's Shooting Death Accidental

The September 29th shooting which killed Stoughton High senior David Wade, long understood to be an accident, has officially been ruled as such, the office of Norfolk Country District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey announced in a press release Friday afternoon.

Wade, 17, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest at his Turnpike St. home. He was accidentally shot by his 21-year-old brother.

Armed Robbery Reported in Attleboro

Attleboro police are searching for a man who they said stole narcotics Friday afternoon at Rite Aid (1099 Washington St.) after he showed employees a gun and jumped over the counter to grab them.

Detective Sgt. Arthur Brillon told Attleboro Patch the incident happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. He described the suspect as a white male in his late 40s or early 50s, about 6 feet tall with facial hair and wearing a baseball cap that said "U.S. Border Patrol."

Norton Closer to Choosing a Superintendent

The search for a superintendent of schools for Norton is one step closer to the end as the Screening Committee has been selected. Members are:

Peter Carignan, Finance Committee member; Valerie Desmond, citizen-at-large; Carolyn Gallagher, parent; Timothy Giblin, selectmen; Ronnie Goldstein, administrator; Sara Horton, teacher; Terry Rand, district office; Chris Strynar, parent; Jeanne Sullivan, administrator; Kent Taylor, teacher; Natalie Connors, (11th grade) student; Beth McManus, School Committee; and Marge Werner, School Committee.

Four Car Accident Sends One to Hospital in Easton

One person was transported to the hospital Monday evening after a four-car accident at the intersection of Turnpike and Purchase Street

Easton Police Chief Allen Krajcik said a failure to yield resulted in a chain reaction.

"Investigation by Officer Keith Boone indicates that a 2006 Buick operated by Joseph Cohen, age 18, of 7 Jefferson Court, Stoughton stopped at the stop sign on Purchase Street but then failed to yield to a vehicle heading northbound on Turnpike," Krajcik said in a statement.
