A 15-year-old male was transported to Boston Medical Center Saturday evening after he was hit by a motor vehicle while riding his bike on Park St. in Stoughton in what is an apparent hit-and-run, according to Lt. Buddy O'Neil of the Stoughton Fire Department.

O'Neil said the teen was riding his bike in the breakdown lane on Park St. (Route 27 South) when a car hit him and knocked him to the ground near the Chateau at 1165 Park St. at 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 8.

The car kept traveling towards Brockton.

Stoughton Police and Fire responded. A Medflight was unavailable due to the weather, O'Neil said, so the Stoughton Fire Department transported the victim to BMC via ambulance.

The teen sustained multi-system trauma, according to confirmed scanner reports. O'Neil said the victim was conscious, however, and that the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
