Police Log: Weymouth Woman Charged with Shoplifting, Drug Possession at Target

The following information was provided by the Stoughton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Wednesday, March 5

At 5:40 a.m., Stoughton Police alerted the Stoughton Fire Department in regards to the reported odor of gas in the area of Technology Ctr. Drive. 

At 4:04 p.m. police received a report of four youths potentially smoking marijuana in the area of the Hanson School playground on Central Street.

At 4:23 p.m., police responded to the Stoughton District Court in regards to an individual being held there on a warrant. Police arrested Henry Muse, 49, of Brockton West on the warrant.

At 5:38 p.m., police pulled a vehicle over near the U.S. Post Office on Porter Street and subsequently issued a summons to an Everett man for operating a vehicle with a suspended license and for a railroad crossing violation.

At 6:18 p.m., police received a repot from a driver that she struck a dog on West Street and sustained significant damage to her vehicle. Shortly thereafter, around 6:20 p.m., a caller reported to police the dog was lying in the roadway after being struck multiple times. The owner of the dog was on scene and took it away, according to police records. 

At 8:23 p.m. police received a report from a manager of Bed Bath and Beyond of a man who was reportedly dancing around in the parking lot. Police an ambulance for evaluation, but the man was not transported to a hospital and instead left the area without incident. 

Thursday, March 6

At 9:24 a.m., police received a report that an individual had been rear-ended in the area of Turnpike and Central streets before the other motorist drove off. Police issued a Somerset man for leaving the scene of property damage. 

Friday, March 7

At 8:01 a.m., police arrested Philip Jaffier, 23, of Stoughton, for possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute in the area of Percy Street.

At 10:24 a.m., police issued a summons to an Abington man for larceny of more than $250 in the area of Island Street. 

At 9:28 p.m., police pulled over a vehicle in the area of Pleasant Street and Beatrice Lane, where they arrested Samantha Spearin, 31, of Stoughton on a warrant, to whom they also issued a summons for operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. 

Saturday, March 8

At 12:48 p.m., police received a report of copper having been stolen from a home in the area of School Street. 

At 2:29 p.m., police issued a summons to three women, each from Weymouth, Boston and Hamden, Connecticut for shoplifting of merchandise of more than $250 at Kohl's.

At 5:12 p.m., police issued another summons to a Stoughton woman for shoplifting by asportation from Kohl's.

Sunday, March 9

At 12:39 a.m.,. police responded to an accident in the area of Central Street and Springwood Avenue, where a vehicle reportedly crashed into a telephone pole, snapping the pole. Officers subsequently summonsed a Stoughton woman for negligent operation of a motor vehicle. 

At 3:51 a.m., police received a report from the Randolph Police Department regarding a driver who passed out behind the wheel in the area of Technology Ctr. Drive and Lindelof Avenue. Police arrested Katherine Delpilar of Brockton for operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor. 

At 12:45 p.m. police received a report of shoplifting at Target, where they arrested Lorraine Healey of Weymouth for shoplifting by asportation, larceny of less than $250 by single scheme, possession of a Class E drug and distribution of a Class E drug.
