Police Log: Westport Man Charged with OUI Alcohol, Drugs

The following information was provided by the Stoughton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Friday, May 2

At 1:35 a.m., Stoughton police pulled a vehicle over in the area of Central Street near the Shell station. Officers subsequently arrested Jeremy Marchand, 25, of Westport, for operating under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, following too close, and driving without an inspection sticker. 

At 3:13 p.m., police responded to Kohl's on a report of shoplifting. Officers issued a summons to a Roslindale woman for larceny of less than $250 by false pretense, shoplifting of more than $100 by asportation and shoplifting by asportation.

At 5:08 p.m., police responded to Plain Street where a caller reported being bit by a dog. Officers ensured the dog be quarantined to its home and spoke with Animal Control. 

At 9:53 p.m., police received a report of a deer in the road that was hit by a car. Upon arrival, police saw the deer, which then ran into the woods.

Saturday, May 3

At 3:11 a.m., police responded to Pearl Street on a report that a car had been driving all over the road. Officers arrested Sean Turner, 34, of Stoughton, for operating under the influence of liquor (second offense) and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. 

At 7:25 a.m., police received a report from the superintendent of an apartment complex on Jones Terrace that his master key for the entire complex had gone missing. The key had reportedly been left in the entry way to 31 Walnut Court when he returned to retrieve it, and found it was gone. It was identified by a red marking on the top of the key, police said. 

Sunday, May 4

At 11:19 a.m., police received a report that a dog was struck by a motor vehicle on Prospect Street. The owner of the dog responded and transported the animal to the vet.

Tuesday, May 6

At 5:14 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near Target on Hawes Way. Upon arrival, police issued a summons to a Stoughton man for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation and failure to stop/yield.

At 7:23 p.m., police received a report of a possible intoxicated driver near Cumberland Farms on Turnpike Street. Upon arrival, police arrested Patrick Brandao of Brockton for driving with a suspended license. 

Wednesday, May 7

At 12:52 p.m., police responded to Hertz on Washington Street and issued a summons to a Pueblo, Colorado man and a Pawtucket, Rhode Island woman for larceny of a motor vehicle.

At 3:57 p.m., police placed a Stoughton man into protective custody in the area of Porter and Rose streets.

Thursday, May 8

At 6:08 p.m., a resident of Swanson Terrace reported that copper was stolen from their home. 

At 8:03 p.m., police received a report that the driver of a silver Mitsubishi tried to hit someone on Packard Street. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate anyone.
