Police Log: Suspicious Solicitors Reported, Car Broken Into at LA Fitness

The following information was provided by the Stoughton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Thursday, Feb. 20

At 7:01 a.m., Easton Police reported to officers in Stoughton of a motor vehicle accident on Bay Road. Officers contacted Island Street Auto to tow the vehicle involved. No injuries were reported.

At 9:27 a.m., police arrested a 25-year-old Stoughton man on a warrant on School Street. 

At 10:17 a.m., police issued a criminal summons to a 59-year-old Brockton man for failure to lease property and use of a motor vehicle without authority. 

At 10:31 a.m., Stoughton Animal Control responded to the area of School and Elm streets after receiving a report of a dog running loose in the area. The animal was gone upon arrival. 

At 7:51 p.m., police responded to Fourth Street after receiving a report of two teenagers who allegedly approached a house claiming to be selling Verizon products. Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the individuals. 

At 8:46 p.m., police responded to LA Fitness on Hawes Way after receiving a report that a vehicle had been broken into at the gym's parking lot. A witness saw a vehicle flee the scene.
