Police Log: One Charged, One Summonsed for Disturbing the Peace

The following information was provided by the Stoughton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Wednesday, April 9

At 8:47 a.m., Stoughton Police notified the Massachusetts Highway Department of a large pothole in the roadway area of Washington and Halliden streets. 

At 12:33 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the area of Park and Washington streets. Both vehicles were towed.

At 1:15 p.m., police cited a driver on Washington Street for driving an unregistered vehicle. 

At 3 p.m., police received a report from a caller who claimed his vehicle had been damaged.

At 3:58 p.m., police recede a report of a person whom passed out in a vehicle in the area of Dark Avenue. Police responded and the person was determined to be okay. 

At 4:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance on Morton Street, where polio arrested Matthew Irving, 31, of Stoughton for disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer and threats to commit a crime. Police also issued a summons to a Stoughton man for disturbing the peace. 

At 6:57 p.m., a caller reported to police that he found a bag with pills in it. Officers investigated and determined the bag did not have pills inside, but rather the items were determined to be plastic construction plugs.

Tuesday, April 8

At 4:21 p.m., police received a report that a rock had been thrown through a window of the Stoughton HIgh School boys' locker room.

At 4:31 p.m., a man entered the Stoughton Police Department with a small box of ammunition he found.
