Police Log: Lawn Ornaments Stolen from Park Street Home

The following information was provided by the Stoughton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Thursday, June 12

At 2:13 a.m., Easton Police notified the Stoughton Police Department of a robbery that occurred in Easton; the suspect allegedly involved reportedly fled in a vehicle that was registered to a Stoughton resident. Officers investigated and were able to locate the vehicle, which was seized by Easton police as part of the investigation. 

At 11:22 a.m., police received a report of a potential robbery at the South Shore Savings Bank on Turnpike Street. An alarm company called Stoughton Police at the same time the bank called the department, in regards to a suspect described as a black male wearing a white track suit, white baseball hat, white turtleneck and dark sunglasses. The suspect reportedly left on foot walking towards Page Street, where he entered a black four-door sedan. The matter is under investigation.

At 2:18 p.m., police arrested Jesus Rodriguez, 50, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island on a warrant after pulling his vehicle over on Central Street.

At 1:33 p.m., police received a report from a caller who claimed a horse trailer was stolen; Easton police were notified and the trailer was subsequently repossessed.

At 9:25 p.m., police responded to Kohl's on Technology Center Drive, where they arrested Lesley Washington, 20, of Brockton, for shoplifting by asportation and on two warrants. 

Saturday, June 14

At 12:42 p.m., police received a report from Kohl's loss prevention that a shoplifter was in custody and was summonsed for shoplifting. 

Sunday, June 15

At 5:13 a.m., police received a report that a pole was struck after an accident in the area of Canton and Central streets. The Stoughton Fire Department was notified, and crews found that the pole was intact, though Verizon was contacted to assess the damage. No injuries were reported. 

At 6:08 a.m., police received a report from a Park Street resident that lawn ornaments on the property were stolen overnight. The ornaments included one small pig and four small cows; police searched the area but were unable to locate the missing items. 

At 3:34 p.m, police arrested Bartholomeu Alves, 42, of Brockton for driving under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and following too close on Technology Center Drive near Lendelof Avenue.
