Police Log: Home Invasion Reported Near Stoughton Border, Machetes Shown

Friday, May 9

At 6:56 a.m., Stoughton Police responded to the parking lot of Stoughton High School, where a caller reported that a ceramic lion had been left. Officers followed up with school officials on the report. 

At 3:09 p.m., police received a report from an employee of Dunkin Donuts on Washington Street that a youth threw a drink at an employee's vehicle in the parking lot. Officers spoke with a manager at the restaurant and found nothing to be on the vehicle. 

At 11:27 p.m., police received a report that a vehicle had been putting a blue police light on its roof and following other vehicles along Turnpike Road. 

Saturday, May 10

At 12:53 a.m., police pulled over a vehicle in the area of Park and Ash streets, where they issued a summons to a Rockland resident for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation, and a summons to a Weymouth woman for knowingly allowing unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 

At 3:06 a.m., Stoughton police received a report from Randolph police regarding a home invasion during which suspects showed two machetes and two silver handguns on Warren Street near the Stoughton Border. The suspects were described as three tall black males wearing black coats and black-colored "ninja-style" masks. The suspects reportedly left the scene in a dark-colored SUV. 

At 9:29 p.m., police responded to Turnpike Street on a report of a suspicious motor vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Officers subsequently arrested Rita Miller, 47, of Boston for operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor and reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and David Johnson, 46, of Boston on a warrant. 

Sunday, May 11

At 8:30 p.m., police placed a Norwood man into protective custody after responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Pleasant Street.

Monday, May 12

At 6:49 a.m., police responded to a report of an accident on Canton Street near Central Street involving two vehicles. Police subsequently issued a summons to a Stoughton resident and a Pawtucket, Rhode Island resident for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 

At 9:48 a.m., police received a report that a truck took down power lines in the area of Belcher and Prospect streets. National Grid and the Stoughton Fire Department were notified and responded to the scene. 

Wednesday, May 14

At 8:31 a.m., police responded to Stoughton High School on a report of a disturbance during a school assembly. Police charged an 18-year-old Stoughton resident for disturbing the school.

At 1:44 p.m., police responded to a report of shoplifting at Kohl's in Stoughton, where they arrested Robert Kilroy, 30, of Stoughton, on a warrant and for shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise, and Samantha Simas, 23, of Brockton, on three warrants and possession of a Class A drug. 

At 2:35 p.m., police issued a summons to a Sharon man for driving an uninsured motor vehicle, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and driving with no inspection sticker. 

At 2:57 p.m., police arrested Malaquias Fernando Silva, 30, of Stoughton, for entering a dwelling/house by false pretense, larceny from a building and furnishing a false name and social security number. 

Friday, May 16

At 9:12 a.m., police received a report of wires down near the Stoughton Public Works. National Grid responded and removed the wires. 

At 1:45 p.m., police responded to Stoughton High School, where they arrested a 16-year-old juvenile for being a minor in possession of alcohol. 

Saturday, May 17

At 12:30 a.m., police responded to Smokey Bones in Stoughton on a report of a possible fight in the parking lot involving about 30 individuals. Officers were able to clear the lot and restore peace. 

Sunday, May 18

At 5:11 p.m., police pulled a vehicle over on Washington Street, where they issued a summons to a Stoughton man for driving a vehicle with a suspended license, driving with a suspended registration and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.
