Drunk Driver Arrested in Stoughton After Allegedly Hitting Car Driven by Pregnant Woman

Drunk Driving Arrest

The Stoughton Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle accident on Sumner St. in Stoughton Feb. 17 at 12:27 a.m. after receiving a call from a pregnant woman stating her car was struck by another vehicle. 

The woman refused a transport to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, according to the Stoughton Police logs.

The driver of the other vehicle, Martin Brayton Fitzgerald, 24, of Copeland St. in Brockton, was arrested for allegedly driving drunk.

Fitzgerald was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Drunk Driving Arrest

A car hit a pole at the corner of Washington St. and Monk St. in Stoughton Feb. 17 at 2:41 a.m. 

Stoughton Police arrested the driver, Michael Joseph Skelly, 23, of Plain Dr. in Stoughton, for allegedly driving drunk.

Skelly is charged with operating under the influence of liquor and a marked lanes violation.

Shoplifting, Assault and Battery on Police Officer

Stoughton Police responded to an alleged shoplifting incident at Kohl's on Technology Center Drive Feb. 20 at 8:15 p.m.

Alanah Doherty, 18, of Acorn Dr. in Randolph, was arrested and charged with shoplifting more than $100 by asportation; shoplifting by asportation (second offense); assault and battery on a police officer; and resisting arrest.

Assault and Battery

Stoughton Police investigated a 9-1-1 hangup from a residence on Knowles Ave. Feb. 15 at 7:21 p.m. 

Police called back and a male answered saying everything was alright. A female could be heard yelling in the background . Officers responded and placed the male under arrest, according to the Stoughton Police log.

Edward C. Callery, 37, of Knowles Ave. in Stoughton, was arrested and charged aggravated domestic assault and battery; assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; and intimidating a witness.

Assault and Battery

Stoughton Police received a call Feb. 17 at 4:39 a.m. from an employee at the Courtyard Marriott on Technology Center Drive reporting a possible domestic incident.

According to the Stoughton Police logs, the male party allegedly involved in the domestic incident was stopped by Randolph Police on West Street in Randolph where Stoughton officers then responded.

Menelaos Demitrios Mitoulis, 38, of Athens Dr. in Brockton, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.

Assault and Battery

Stoughton Police responded to a call for a possible domestic incident on Lincoln St. Feb. 19 at 8:35 p.m. and arrested Brennan Jay Caswell, 21, of Lincoln St. in Stoughton. 

Caswell is charged with two counts of aggravated domestic assault and battery.

Hit and Run

Stoughton Police received a report of a hit and run accident Feb. 16 at 3:17 a.m. at the intersection of Park St. and Prospect St.

Officers reported that a traffic light had been struck and a license plate was located at the scene.

Police located the vehicle involved at Cumberland Farms on Park St. at 3:54 a.m. 

Kennith Rogers, 23, of Johnson St. in Taunton, was charged with leaving the scene of property damage and a marked lanes violation.

The Fire Department was notified and transported the driver to Good Samaritan in Brockton.

Vandalism 

A 16-year-old was arrested the morning of Feb. 20 for allegedly vandalizing a building at 530 Washington St. in Stoughton.

The juvenile was charged with vandalizing property; two counts of tagging property; malicious destruction of property more than $250; and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

Car Accident

A caller stated that a car went through the window of a Stoughton business, H & R Block at 91 Sharon St. in Cobbs Corner, Feb. 16 at 9:31 a.m. (photo in the media gallery).

The police log did not report any injuries or citations/charges issued to the driver.

Shoplifting

Stoughton Police responded to a call Feb. 20 at 2:15 p.m. for a female allegedly shoplifting at Target on Hawes Way. 

Renee Haley, 29, of Eugenia St. in Randolph, was charged with shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise.
