Drug Charges Highlight Court Log

Man charged with heroin possession given probation:

Dustin Taylor, 27, of Avalon Drive, Sharon received probation until June 8 on a charge of possession of heroin stemming from an April 13, 2010 incident in Stoughton. Police said that at 8:20 p.m. on April 13 they responded to a report of a man passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle at 99 Porter St.

Police found Taylor inside the vehicle unresponsive and incoherent. Police searched Taylor and found two used hypodermic syringes in his front pocket. They also found three syringes containing a brownish liquid on the passenger seat of the car. Taylor was later taken to Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital for a possible overdose, according to the police incident report.

Man charged with assaulting officer after Halloween party:

Jamal Ivory, 17, of Cricket St., Randolph had charges of assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct continued to March 15 for a pretrial hearing. The charges stem from an Oct. 31, 2010 incident in Stoughton. Police said they responded to a report of an assault involving a firearm at 47 Pearl St. and to be on the lookout for four male suspects who fled the scene. Ivory was later apprehended and charged when confronted by police.

Canton man charged with drug possession:

Shaun Thomas, 27, of Will Drive, Canton was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of a Class B substance and was ordered to appear at a pretrial hearing on March 25. The charges stem from a Feb. 8 incident in Stoughton.

Police said they were dispatched to Erin Road at 10:24 p.m. Feb. 8 for a suspicious person and that they found Thomas asleep inside the SUV. Thomas later told police he was dropping off a friend. However, the vehicle was stopped at an intersection with the gear in drive. Thomas admitted to having taken Xanax, two 30 mg Percocets, and smoking marijuana earlier.

Police found Thomas in possession of four 30mg Percocet tablets and a small bag of marijuana inside a box in the vehicle's console.
