The chairperson of any committee should be fair to all involved.
Those who passed through Stoughton Center Saturday morning (3/15/2014) were extremely surprised to see Stoughton School Committee chair Ms. Joyce Husseini holding up a Sovinee sign (see photo). Sovinee is one of the two incumbent candidates up for re-election this April.
The two incumbents are being challenged by three new candidates.

In January, Stoughton School Committee chair Ms. Joyce Husseini declared she is banning outside school committee candidates from making public comments, regardless of their comment topic.
Regular School Committee meeting agenda always allots up to 15 minutes for public comments. Commenters, however, must sign up before the meeting starts and state the topic of their comment.

When asked for her reason for banning the outside candidates, Ms. Husseini stated she got an opinion from the school committee lawyer, Regina Tate. Ms. Husseini was asked but never provided answers to the questions:
(1) How exactly she posed the question to attorney Tate, and
(2) What answer attorney Tate provided.
