OASIS on the Move: Supporting Healthy Choices This School Year

OASIS is gearing up for another year of supporting the healthy choices that most of our Stoughton youth are already making and also continuing to work at preventing local youth from using alcohol and other drugs.

The following is another column from (Organizing Against Substances In Stoughton), a coalition of representatives from: the Stoughton Youth Commission, Schools, Police, District Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Court, Chamber of Commerce, Local Clergy, as well as various agencies within the community.

It is hard to believe that summer is coming to a close and it is time to go back to school.

At OASIS we are gearing up for another great year of supporting the healthy choices that most of our Stoughton youth are already making and also continuing to work at preventing local youth from using alcohol and other drugs.

Keep an eye on this column for information about youth substance use, prevention tips and strategies and other useful information.

If you have questions that you would like us to address in this column, or are interested in us writing about something specific, feel free to email OASIS’ Prevention Coordinator, Stephanie Patton at spatton@stoughton-ma.gov, or drop us a line on Facebook (www.facebook.com/stoughtonoasis). We would love to hear from you!

This year, OASIS will be collaborating with community partners to bring you a Prescription Drug Take Back, Safe Prom Event (including Prom Fashion show), a media campaign to debunk some of the misperceptions about youth behavior, a youth leadership institute for Stoughton High School aged youth, and more!

If you want to learn more or get involved please call, email or find us on the web!  Have a great year!!!
