LETTER: Electric Trucks with Nothing to Do?

A Letter to the Editor from Barb Walsh.

I was at the Bank of [America] ATM on Rt. 27 this morning and saw these two [electric] trucks just sitting behind the Jubilee Christian Church. They were just hanging out (see photos in the media gallery).

This was at about 10 past 8 this morning [Thursday].

They were there for the whole 10 minutes I was there.  With most of Stoughton still out of power, I would think they would have something to do.

Not that I am defending National Grid because they are on the top of my S*** list. But, Those are actually Tree Service Trucks.

Did you ever think these guys are out around the clock? After a while you have to get a little rest. These guys out doing the work haven't been home in days and they are catching what little sleep they can get in the cab of the truck.

This is pathetic. I have a question for Miss Barb Walsh and others who may have agreed with her actions...If you were obligated/mandated to work a 24 hour shift and finally had an opportunity to sit and A. Catch some Zzzzs B. Eat a meal C. Call family members that you haven't seen in several days D. Have a c onversation that didn't have to do with what you have been doing for the last 24 hours or E. ALL OF THE ABOVE in one sitting (which would take more than 10 minutes to do). wouldn't you have taken that break? AND How would you feel if you were then judged for taking that said (much needed and deserved) break? How would you feel if people were snapping photos of you?? Oh...I'm sure it didn't even CROSS YOUR MIND because it was clouded over with an "I know it all" mentality. I'm curious...when will people start treating others how they wish to be treated? Unless of course-you wouldn't mind people judging you and making snide remarks and acting like they would do your job better. Slip on those boots Barb...I dare anyone to trade places with these guys and find out exactly what it takes to do their job in a time of "crisis" if I even dare call it that because in my opinion...unless you have a medical device which requires electricity to keep you alive or any other medical equipment to sustain you...this wasn't a crisis.
