Why, oh why is there another THRIFT store in our town? I drove through Stoughton Center and a hot pink Thift Store sign across the street from Shaw's in the former Family Dollar location nearly blinded me. I am sick of reading and hearing about people wanting to "change the town" and to "make the town a better place". I've read countless reports about wanting a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's - seriously? What high end food store will rent a location in our town? Would they want to be situated across the street from a Thrift Store, diagonally across from a Dollar Store, on the same side of the street as a Strip Club or how about next to a run down, closed down, boarded up store front and businesses? In order to better our town we need to STOP approving these kinds of businesses! It brings in junky people! Bringing in junky people, brings in crime. Then they end up moving here and it brings down our town, the value of homes, the school system. What is this town not understanding? When I see a town loaded with thrift stores and dollar stores, I see it as a low class, trashy town, a town  that I wouldn't want to move to or raise children in if I am looking to buy a home. Aside from fast food establishments, we don't have a single restaurant chain. Applebee's closed years ago, Friendly's closed. We need to bring in a nice family style restaurant and nice small businesses. Not more thrift and dollar-like stores. It's enough!
