ABOUT TOWN: One Day, Two Guns at Apartment Complex in Stoughton

ONE DAY, TWO GUNS: As you may know, Monday, July 16 at 12:32 p.m., at 404 Technology Drive at the Lodge at Stoughton apartment complex. The and was transported to Boston Medical Center.

Stoughton Police investigators do not believe this to be a random act of violence and a person of interest has been identified in the case, SPD Executive Officer Robert Devine said in a press release posted on the town website.

Monday night? There was a man with a gun at 408 Technology Drive in the same apartment complex, threatening to commit suicide.

Stoughton Police and Fire arrived on scene and diffused the situation.

The individual was transported, under police guard, to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton for psychiatric evaluation.

STOUGHTON MAN MAKES IT TO "THE VOICE": Stoughton's own Joe "Kidd" Fernandes tells About Town that he has made the live auditions for the hit TV Show, "The Voice."

He writes, "Now, it's off to New York for my first round in the live auditions on Sunday Morning, July 22nd, 2012. I have made it and am going this weekend. Its the biggest singing competition in the country and I am so excited to even be part of it. Off to the next page in my Life's passion."

He continued, "Never give up on your dream of doing what you truly love! Age means nothing, It's all in your HEART! I thank all my family and friends for all the support through the years."

The Voice airs on NBC and features music superstars Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as judges/coaches.

According to the NBC website, the next season of The Voice starts September 10.

MOSQUITO WARNING: The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has announced the Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) has been detected in mosquitoes in the Town of Easton. 

The Stoughton Board of Health advises individuals in the Town of Stoughton to take precautionary measures to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. 

EEE is a rare but serious illness spread by the bite of an infected mosquito. 

Precautionary information can be obtained by dialing the following BOH Hotline # 781-232-9280.
